A few weeks ago, we wrote about Sun Country removing Surly Brewing Company products from their in-flight drink menu. Per gomn.com, they will be bringing Surly Furious back onboard April 1st in their first class cabin and May 1st throughout the rest of the cabin.

In December of last year, the airline was sold to a New York Investment group which seems to be marking the beginning of the end of Minnesota’s Hometown Airline. Recently they announced they would be cutting almost 20% of their workforce in favor of contract work.

Sun Country confirmed via Twitter that they had removed Surly Brewing Company products from their inflight offering on February 18th. Not even a month later they have announced Surly’s return after a lot of backlash over the decision.

Bottom Line

With each passing day, Sun Country appears to be getting less and less Minnesotan in what appears to be a race to the bottom of the ultra low cost carrier market. I am certainly surprised they have elected to bring Surly back as this doesn’t seem to be the course of action they have been taking lately. I will be curious to see what price they bring it back at however. Previously they charged $7 which was very reasonable.
