Price Hike planned for Lifetime National Parks Senior Pass

Are you or do you know a US Citizen who is 62 years or older? Then they’re eligible to purchase a US National Parks senior pass for only $10. We’d recommend signing up this summer as park officials have stated this steal of a deal is likely disappearing this fall.

The pass can be purchased online for $20 or at one of the many site locations around the United States for only $10. The typical annual pass costs $80, and is only good for one year.

A $10 lifetime pass provides access to more than 2,000 recreation sites (including Yosemite pictured above) managed by five US Federal agencies, with up to 100% of the proceeds being used to improve and enhance visitor recreation services. The senior pass admits the passholder plus three adults per vehicle (children under 16 are always free). Only the vehicle with the passholder will be covered.

Thrifty Tip: The Senior Pass may provide a 50% discount on some amenity fees charged for facilities and services such as camping, swimming, boat launch, and specialized interpretive services.

Bottom Line

This is an unbelievable bargain and goes towards supporting and protecting our beautiful national parks. Gas is cheap and traveling to your nearest national park is a solid low cost option for your next trip. Also, Federal officials have hinted that the senior pass is going to increase up to $80 on October 1st, so now is the time to move on this deal.
