You need a free United MileagePlus account to be eligible for this promo, as that gets you a discounted registration rate of just $119 a year – down from the standard $179 annual price. But you can drop that price even farther with the right credit card in your wallet.
This offer gets even better if you hold the Platinum Card® from American Express – which currently offers up to a $179 annual credit to cover the cost of CLEAR membership. So as long as you have a United MileagePlus frequent flyer account (which is free to create), you'll be charged $119 a year even signing up through this promo
If you put that charge on your Platinum Card, the full $119 will be reimbursed, and you will come out ahead with $100 in United TravelBank cash.
