American Express has added two new Amex offers that can earn you 5,000 or 10,000 bonus Membership Rewards points for hotel bookings at some of the best hotels on the Las Vegas Strip.

Traveling4Miles first found these new Amex Offers, which are a great way to earn more points or get cashback for your spending. By spending $250 or $500 at MGM properties like Aria, Mandalay Bay, New York-New York, or Excalibur through January 5, 2020, you can get these bonus points. And there are actually two separate offers.

The first will net you 10,000 bonus points by spending $500 or more at top MGM properties like Aria, Mandalay Bay, The Mirage, MGM, Vdara, Delano Las Vegas, Park MGM, Bellagio, or NoMad Las Vegas.

And it’s important to note that you don’t need to make a $500 reservation in one fell swoop – just add the offer to your card and make at least $500 in qualifying purchases directly with the hotel by the Jan. 5, 2020 expiration date. That includes any charges you add to your room, like dining, room service, or spa treatments.

On the lower end, you could earn 5,000 bonus Amex points by spending $250-plus at resorts like Excalibur, New York-New York, Luxor, Gold Strike, and other non-Vegas hotels like Beau Rivage or Borgata.

Unfortunately, you can’t stack these offers to earn 15,000 points in one go, as they’re eligible for different properties. But if you’ve got several trips to Vegas coming up, you could utilize both offers separately to earn 15,000 bonus Amex points.

Membership Rewards points are what you earn from cards like the Platinum Card from American Express and the American Express Gold Card. That means you need one of these cards or another that earns Membership Rewards points to be eligible for this targeted offer – a Delta American Express card won’t cut it.

These Vegas Amex offers are targeted, which means they won’t be available for all cardholders. However, these offers appear to be widely available.

Just what you will get with each offer varies, and the images below will show you all of the offers we’ve seen. Both offers end Jan, 5, 2020, so you will need to have at least paid for your travel by those dates.

Where to Find Amex Offers

If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called “Amex Offers & Benefits” (this is available through the Amex mobile app as well).

If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase.

Bottom Line

Amex offers are great because they’re basically free money – or points – for spending you’re going to do anyhow. It’s just another way to justify the cost of a credit card annual fee.

Make sure to check your various American Express credit cards because each one can have different offers. It looks like these Las Vegas Amex offers are targeted. And they’re only available for Membership Rewards earning credit cardholders, so it won’t be available for everybody.

The offers change quite frequently, so add these now before they disappear.

How come my offer is only for lame cash back and not points? Any way I can change that?
