Icelandair Stopover Pass offers Free Concerts and Sports Events
We’re big fans of Icelandair here at Thrifty Traveler. They offer cheap fares which include free checked bag and seat assignment, and amenities such as gate to gate WiFi. One of our favorite benefits is that you can stopover for up to 7 days in Iceland at no extra charge.
It’s no surprise that Icelandair encourages passengers to stop in Iceland in hopes of spending more of your tourist dollars in their home country. Icelandair has set up several programs to encourage more stopovers including their seasonal Stopover Buddy program and now they’ve expanded on that program and introduced the Icelandair Stopover Pass, which offers more free entertainment opportunities around Iceland.
What is the Stopover Pass?
From September 2017 to April 2018, Icelandair is offering tickets to events or performances from Iceland’s arts, sports and culture scenes, at no extra cost. Some of these events will also include Icelandair employees.
A quick check of the opportunities include live concerts in the fancy Icelandair Saga Lounge, soccer tickets, music festival tickets, and even mini concerts in the homes of Icelandair employees. Safe to say many of these events are unique opportunities.
