Fly Delta’s new route to the Azores for only 30k SkyMiles (R/T)
Delta is launching their inaugural flight to the Azores on May 24th. To help promote the launch of the new route, Delta has been advertising fares as low as $599. I was considering booking the new route in cash until reader David C. messaged me announcing he had booked the new route for 30k Delta SkyMiles round-trip. I did a quick search and sure enough, flights from JFK nonstop to Punta Delgada, Azores (PDL) are only 30k SkyMiles daily through September 3rd.
Thankfully, it’s not just JFK that has availability for 30k SkyMiles. Although there isn’t daily availability, I was able to find cheap redemptions all along the east coast as well as the midwest. Availability decreases as you move towards the west coast, but I was able to find a fare for 30k SkyMiles from Minneapolis. This is half off what it costs to visit most of Europe with SkyMiles!
The average Delta award fare to Europe is 60k miles, so being able to snag a flight to this bucket list destination for only 30k SkyMiles is a heck of a deal. This deal hasn’t been covered anywhere else so I’d suggest booking ASAP as award availability will dry up quickly. I booked a late May flight so hopefully I’ll see you there!
