Is 2021 here yet?
This year has been a challenge, to say the least, and that extends to travel. The COVID-19 pandemic has put nearly all travel on pause, with no sure sign of when we’ll all be able to set out across the globe again.
Yet we can’t help but look ahead to the future. Planning a trip – scoring a great flight deal, finalizing which cities or countries you’ll hit, researching those can’t miss restaurants – is one of our favorite parts of travel, period. And we could all use something to look forward to right now.
And despite the uncertainty of when safe and easy travel may resume, it’s a great time to plan that next big trip for 2021 for two big reasons. Airlines are giving travelers some unprecedented flexibility to book flights now as far out as July 2021, then change or cancel for free if necessary. Oh yeah, and the other part: COVID-19 has forced airlines to offer some astoundingly cheap fares.
Get ready to daydream: Check out some of the dirt-cheap fares we sent to Thrifty Traveler Premium members during the pandemic for travel in 2021 and beyond. Oh, and there’s a special treat waiting for you at the end…
Madness to Europe

Keep in mind the theme that you can cancel these flights for a voucher or rebook for a later date. That gives you the freedom to lock in a flight to Tokyo at a price that will make you look twice.
With beautiful beaches, warm weather, and unbeatable food, Thailand has earned its place on travelers’ bucket lists. Just as with Tokyo, we’ve seen flights to Bangkok (BKK) drop as low as $420 for a trip in 2021. And yes, that’s a round-trip price. Take us back, please.

The Caribbean is one of the safest bets for international travel, as many countries are already accepting U.S. travelers. The same is true of Mexico, where international flights from the U.S. have resumed.
