Being a Delta Airlines or Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) elite member certainly has its perks. One of those being SPG’s Crossover Rewards program. With this program SPG Platinum and Gold members earn 1 Starpoint for every dollar spent on eligible Delta flights. Plus, SPG Platinum members enjoy elite benefits when flying with Delta, such as priority check-in, priority boarding, unlimited complimentary upgrades, and first checked bag free.
Further, SkyMiles Diamond, Platinum, Gold and Silver Medallion members earn 1 mile for every dollar spent on eligible room rates at Starwood hotels. Plus, SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum Medallion members receive additional SPG benefits at Starwood hotels and resorts like 4 pm late checkout, access to the SPG elite check-in line, complimentary in-room internet access and an upgrade to an enhanced room at check in when available.
If you have elite status with SPG or Delta, the perks are great! Well good news for the average Joe!
Recently, Starwood announced a promotion that is available to all Delta SkyMiles program members. Through June 30th, 2016 you will earn 2 Delta SkyMiles per dollar spent at any Starwood property in the US and Canada. All you need to do to be eligible is have a loyalty account with both programs and register here before June 24th, 2016. You must book an eligible stays between April 1st and June 30th. An eligible stay is defined as one or more nights in a participating Starwood hotel or resort in US or Canada paying an eligible rate and posting to the Member’s Starwood Preferred Guest account. Eligible rates are almost always rates booked directly on Starwood’s website and not through a 3rd party booking service.
Registering for this promotion is a no brainer, as you don’t need elite status in either program to pick up additional Delta SkyMiles. I have a few hotel stays coming up this summer and I will most certainly be taking advantage. Don’t leave free miles on the table!
