Just in time for Black Friday, Delta has launched a SkyMiles flash sale on flights to the Azores!
Go explore this incredible island off the coast of Portugal for just 40,000 SkyMiles round trip. Flights depart Delta hubs like Minneapolis-St. Paul (MSP), Detroit (DTW), Boston (BOS) and the new non-stop flight from New York City-JFK (JFK). The best part? You can go during the peak summer season, from May through July.
These flights normally cost more than $1,000 and 100,000 SkyMiles or more. So book ASAP! Availability is sure to dry up fast, so book immediately once you find some dates that work.
Thrifty Tip #1: Book on a laptop or desktop computer and make sure to select “Calendar View” and “5 weeks” to maximize the dates viewable.
Thrifty Tip #2: Check out our Guide to Sao Miguel Island in the Azores.
Thrifty Tip #3: We recommend 3-5 days on the main island (São Miguel) and then visit at least one other island or take a $90 flight to mainland Portugal.
- Varies by departure city and destination, but it’s available starting in mid-May all the way through July. Book ASAP!
- Atlanta (ATL) – 40k
- Boston (BOS) – 40k
- Detroit (DTW) – 40k
- Minneapolis (MSP) – 40k
- New York City (JFK) – 40k
- Ponta Delgada, Azores (PDL)
We absolutely love Delta’s SkyMiles flash sales and have written about them extensively. But this sale to the Azores might just be our favorite yet.
At 40,000 SkyMiles and under $60 in fees, you can fly almost all the way across the Atlantic and discover an unspoiled island. All that for roughly half the fees and just 10,000 SkyMiles more (if that) than what you’d pay to pop down to Cancun. Seriously, this is a steal of a deal.
And great news for Delta hub flyers, as these barnburner rates are available from Delta’s strongholds. That’s a rarity: We often bemoan Delta’s Hub Penalty, which can make it hard to score these incredible deals. But that’s simply not the case here.
We’re giddy about this deal and hope you are too. Flying to a place like the Azores for just 40,000 miles round trip is unheard of. Book now, this won’t last!
