Delta Launches Non-stop Service from Minneapolis to Honolulu

Delta announced they will launch daily seasonal service from Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport to Honolulu International Airport this fall. The flight will begin service Oct. 25, 2015 through March 26, 2016 using a 225-seat Boeing 767-300ER aircraft with 25 full flat-bed seats in BusinessElite, 29 seats in Economy Comfort and 171 Economy class seats. This is great news for Minnesotans finally looking for direct easy access to sunny Hawaii. Delta had previously offered non-stop service but ceased service in 2011. No other carriers, besides Delta, offer nonstop service to Hawaii from Minneapolis.

Delta's seasonal service between Minneapolis-St. Paul and Honolulu will operate as follows:

Honolulu at 3:49 p.m.

I did a quick search to see how many SkyMiles are required to fly the new route and it looks like you can fly roundtrip for as low as 50,000 SkyMiles this coming December. This is a steal considering this non-stop flight retails for $1,004!!

Sadly as a Delta Medallion member, you will not be eligible for a complimentary upgrade to Hawaii, since Delta’s complimentary Medallion upgrades only apply on flights to Hawaii from Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, and Salt Lake City.

Either way, it's exciting that Delta is once again offering non-stop service from Minneapolis to Honolulu. I plan to take advantage of this new route in the near future!
