American Express is out with a fantastic new Amex offer that could help you save big on an upcoming Delta flight: Spend $250 or more with Delta, and you'll get $75 right back. And many travelers with a co-branded Delta American Express credit card in their wallet should be able to take advantage.

Delta and Amex team up for money-saving offers like these every now and again, but they're highly targeted. But this one seems to be widely available on Delta Amex cards: Most of the Thrifty Traveler staff with a Delta credit card like the *delta skymiles gold* or the *delta skymiles platinum* had this offer. Still, it's hit or miss. And unfortunately, we're not seeing it on Amex Membership Rewards cards like *amex platinum card* at all.

But this is the best (and easiest to use) Delta Amex offer we've seen in years. There's also another offer floating around for $150 back after spending $500 or more with Delta, though that seems to be rarer. Log in and try to add one to your card ASAP – these Delta offers often disappear quickly.

Delta Amex Offer

If you haven't used Amex Offers before, think of them as digital coupons exclusively for Amex cardholders for purchases like airfare or hotels as well as dining, entertainment, or everyday shopping. Add this one to your Delta Amex card, use that card to book an eligible Delta flight, and Amex will give you money right back for the discount within a few days as a statement credit on your account.

If you've got this one, just add it to your American Express Delta card, then use it to make your purchase with Delta by Oct. 6, 2023. You don't need to travel before that deadline – just book your flights or make some other Delta purchase beforehand. The terms simply require that a flight must originate in the U.S. to be eligible for this offer. And you don't need to spend $250 with Delta in one fell swoop either: Just spend that amount with Delta before the deadline and the statement credit will kick in automatically.

Where to Find Amex Offers

If you haven’t used Amex Offers before, simply log into your American Express account and scroll down near the bottom of the screen and there should be a box called Amex Offers & Benefits. It’s available through the Amex mobile app as well.

If you see an offer you like, simply add the offer to the card and make a qualifying purchase at that business with your card. In this case, you’ll need to book directly with Delta for the cashback credits to kick in.

You should receive a statement credit for the offer within a few days of making a purchase, though in some cases it can take several weeks. And keep in mind you don’t need to hit the spending threshold in one shot – you can spread it out over several transactions.

Bottom Line

This is a fantastic Amex Offer to save on upcoming Delta flights, getting $75 on a purchase of $250 or more with Delta. And unlike many previous Delta Amex Offers, this one seems to be fairly widely available.

It seems this latest Delta Amex offer is targeted, but if you've got a co-branded Delta American Express credit card, there's a good chance you'll have it available. If that's the case, add it to your card ASAP as these Delta Amex Offers have disappeared quickly in the past. And be sure to spend the required $250 with Delta by the Oct. 6, 2023 deadline to take advantage!

  • Awww man! I just purchased two tickets from MPLS to L.A. for $163 about 2 days ago. Should I cancel and then rebook to get this offer?

    • You could, but…
-Check to make sure you have the offer first!
-Keep in mind that if you cancel, you won’t get a refund – you’d get a voucher for the value of your ticket. So you’d have to use those vouchers separately as well.

  • Hi Kyle,

As soon as I read your piece, I went to the AMEX site to load this offer, but of course, it was not offered. There were plenty of others but I found this one to be most desirable.

  • I have been checking for this offer since TT 1st posted it like a week or so ago, this offer is still not available DELTA sky miles GOLD card

  • Thanks for the heads up on this! It’s still not appearing for me 🙁
but at least thanks to you I got in on the 8x Amazon offer.
    TT FTW!

  • I have 2 Amex cards including one I have been using for 15 years and I am never targeted for these great deals. So sad…

    • Hi Anni,

This is a targeted offer from American Express. That means it unfortunately will not be available for all cardholders.

  • I’m excited to find it! I have a couple of flights I want to book on Delta for next Thanksgiving. It sounds like I can book before Dec. 31st and hopefully the flight schedule for next Thanksgiving will be available by then. If I book the flights can I change the dates or will there be a change fee?

    • As long as you don’t book basic economy fares, you will be able to change them or cancel them for a voucher.

  • Very strange. I added the offer to my card yesterday (10/14/21) will the expiry date of 12/31/21. By the evening when I checked my card account again, the expiry date became 10/14/21! And of course it’s gone today (10/15/21) before I got a chance to book a flight.

  • Just checked and unfortunately we didn’t get it (Delta Platinum AMEX and Delta Blue AMEX). Too bad as this is a great deal.

  • Used a similar offer but flight has now been changed and I need to cancel. If I am credited back to Amex will they claw back offer money? If so, is it best to take ecredit? Thanks

  • I saw this offer on my Amex Green card, and promptly added it; Delta is my preferred domestic airline, and I currently have the Delta Platinum and Gold cards [cancelling the latter this year]. However, I’ve not flown it that often recently because I’ve been redeeming business class award flights elsewhere, so I’m kind of a weird data point. Want to fly Delta a lot, but haven’t needed to. I’m flying Delta exclusively in the near term because of expiring 2020 eCredits, a similar 2021 Delta Amex offer that I successfully got as an eGift card, and a few Delta gift cards gained from Chase Offers [Office Depot].

  • Thanks for the heads up!!! Just saw this on my Blue Cash Preferred! Spouse has a companion pass at Delta. Anyone know if he could book and pay with my BCP, or does he have to pay with his Delta (no offer there, of course)?

    • You should be able to pay with your Blue Cash Preferred – the only requirement when using a Companion Pass is that you pay with an Amex. Typically, any Amex will do.

  • I received a Delta offer of $120 cash back if I spend $600 but I must book a round trip ticket(s) and my flight must originate from LAX or SEA and arrive in various airports in Hawaii only.

  • Other then BBuys, this is the only AMEX offer I’ve used. Most AMEX offers are from places I have never heard of, Not near me or could afford. This is a great treat from AMEX/Delta and I grabbed it right away and will be spending it soon. This was only available on my Delta Reserve Card.

  • Keep in mind, unless you use a 3rd party app you can only see 100 AMEX offers at at time. As soon as you ass an AMEX offer to your card another one pops up in it’s place. (But you have to refresh your page). With that being said, that offer could….. just not be there or… just a few offers away (Like offer 108) that just have not loaded yet.

    I hope this helps
