[Confirmed] Delta Airbus A350 to fly from Detroit to Asia in October

Yesterday, we featured a post on Delta’s new Airbus A350 rolling out of the paint shop in Toulouse, France. This morning, I saw an Airbus tweet about it and Delta’s official twitter account was answering questions on how to score a seat on the first flight. Up until now, there was only speculation on where the A350 would initially fly out of, and it’s now confirmed to be Detroit (DTW).

The route is unknown (other than Asia) but my bets are on Tokyo (NRT).  According to Delta’s Twitter account, the international flights are expected to begin in October. There was also a mock-up of the new Delta One suite posted to Instagram yesterday. Let’s hope the leaks keep coming. I can’t wait for the inaugural flight!

At least last fall, they were flying 747’s DTW-ICN.
