Chase has announced the new bonus categories for their Chase Freedom card for the second quarter of 2019, April through the end of June.

Chase Freedom cardholders will earn 5% cash back at grocery stores and home improvement stores from April 1 through June 30. Cardholders have to activate this offer in order to cash in – that is now live today at the Chase Freedom page. Users will have until June 14 to activate the offer, and can earn up to $1,500 cash back during the quarter.

But it’s not just cash back. If you hold a Chase Sapphire Reserve or a Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card, you can move the bonuses into your Ultimate Rewards points balance. That means you’re earning 5x Ultimate Rewards points within the bonus categories. That’s an outstanding deal. This is an excellent crop of bonus categories.

We all need to eat, so it should be easy to pile up some cash back or Ultimate Rewards points by using a Chase Freedom card at check out.

And if you’ve got any home improvement projects on the to-do list this spring, it’s even better. Those costs can add up fast, so why not earn 5% cash back – or 5x Ultimate Rewards points – by using the Chase Freedom card?
