What is Busabout?
If you’ve been wanting to travel abroad, but the idea of planning transportation from city to city has you feeling anxious, you’re not alone. Busabout is a travel transportation company that seeks to provide flexible and affordable transportation throughout the world.
They provide everything from island hopping boat tours in Greece to fixed itineraries for music festivals in Europe and bus itineraries through Southeast Asia. I used Busabout for my travels to 11 cities in Europe this summer and it saved me so much time and headache. I didn’t have to panic about getting to the airport on time or get frustrated trying to find the train station.
Thrifty Tip: See our guide of the Busabout service here.
They have a travel transportation option for everyone, to everywhere. You can book a fully planned boat cruise around Thailand with all expenses included, or you can hop on and off their tour bus system throughout Asia and be independent while still making it from Point A to Point B. Read on to learn more about the services Busabout offers.
Busabout provides travel around numerous destinations throughout the world. If you’re looking to cross some of these countries off your bucket list, Busabout is a great option.
Busabout offers different trip styles to suit your interests and travel desires. Want to go to a music or culture festival abroad? Cross Lollapalooza Berlin or Oktoberfest off your bucket list with a Busabout trip. Want to do some hiking or a ski trip through Europe? Busabout has tours for the adventurous as well. Dreaming of sailing through the islands of Croatia? Busabout’s sailing and island hopping tours are a crazy fun way to spend a holiday vacation.
These multiple trip options allow you to choose your level of planning and preparation. Some of these options are fully guided by the Busabout crew and include transportation, accommodation, and meals. However, if you’re an independent traveler and want to build your own itinerary, you can buy a pass to Hop-On Hop-Off the Busabout transportation bus route through Europe and Asia, and still, have the benefits of the Busabout crew while still planning your own adventure.
I used Hop-On Hop-Off flexible coach network this summer and loved my experience. I think this is the best deal Busabout offers and is a spectacular way to see multiple cities in Europe for cheap. Read more about why I chose to book the Busabout Hop-On Hop-Off pass here.
How Much Does It Cost?
Costs depend on the type of trip you select and the duration of travel. Each of the fixed travel routes, like sailing in Turkey or Ultra festival in Croatia will have a set price for that experience, and most have accommodation, transportation, and meals included. They also have a set number of days, with certain departure dates.
If you’re interested in doing Hop-On Hop-Off transportation through Europe or Asia, the duration and cost are tiered differently. For shorter trips, you can choose between a 1 week, 2 week, or 1 month pass. For longer trips, you can select 2 months, 3 months, or buy the Unlimited Pass for unlimited travel between May and October.
As previously mentioned, my brother and I each got a 1-month pass. Although the listed price on the website is $599, students with an ISIC card receive a student discount. We used our student discount and a promo code to get our month unlimited travel on their Europe network (47 cities!) for $426.
If you’re looking for a fun way to travel abroad without the stress of planning a trip and worrying about how to get from city to city, check out the itineraries and trip styles that Busabout has to offer.
