The terms of new credit card sign up bonuses are constantly changing and we want to make sure you have the most up-to-date information on the best offers currently available in the marketplace. These are what the Thrifty Traveler Team considers the 10 best credit card offers for January 2019 that are publicly available.

1. Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard®

Barclays recently waived the first year annual fee on the Barclaycard Arrival Plus® World Elite Mastercard® which greatly increases the value proposition this card offers.

For a limited time, you can enjoy 70,000 bonus miles after spending $5,000 on purchases in the first 90 days, and earn unlimited 2X miles on every purchase. Book travel your way—no airline, seat or hotel restrictions—and redeem your miles for travel statement credits. This is the highest ever offer on this card.

Get 5% miles back to use toward your next redemption, every time you redeem. Additionally, there no foreign transaction fees. Your miles don’t expire as long as your account is open, active and in good standing, and the $89 annual fee is waived the first year.

This is one of my favorite credit cards to use for cruises, Airbnb or any other travel expense you can’t cover with traditional points and miles. Simply make the purchase on your card and then redeem the miles as a statement credit to erase the charge. This is about as easy as redeeming points and miles is going to get.

2. Chase Sapphire Preferred Credit Card

The Chase Sapphire Preferred credit card is currently offering 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months of card membership. The Annual Fee is $95 but is waived for the first year of card membership. The sign-up bonus is worth at least $625 if redeemed through the Chase portal. This is one of the top travel rewards cards out there for beginners.

It earns 2x Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on travel and dining and 1x point per dollar on everything else. It offers one of our favorite ways to book flight deals through our Thrifty Traveler Premium service.

3. Chase Sapphire Reserve Credit Card

The Chase Sapphire Reserve credit card is currently offering 50,000 Ultimate Rewards points after spending $4,000 in the first three months of card membership. The Annual Fee is $450, but the card offers $300 in annual travel credits – automatically wiping out costs for airfare, hotels, cab rides, Uber, etc. The points redeem at a rate of 1.5 cents each through the Chase portal, so the sign-up bonus alone is worth at least $750.

The card also comes with a Priority Pass membership, free Global Entry and a host of other premium benefits. See our post on why we think it is the best travel rewards credit card. Additionally, it offers one of our favorite ways to book flight deals through our Thrifty Traveler Premium service.

4. Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card

The Capital One Venture Rewards credit card is currently offering 50,000 bonus miles after spending $3,000 in the first three months of card membership. It is a great cash back travel rewards credit card that earns 2x miles on all purchases. It even offers free TSA PreCheck or Global Entry.  Additionally, Capital One just launched the ability to transfer miles to a number of partner airlines.

This card is a great option for booking hotels via hotels.com as you’ll earn 10x points for every dollar. Capital One Venture Miles are fantastic for covering the cost of things traditional points and miles cannot cover like cruises, tours, or Airbnb. Read more about our favorite ways to maximize your Venture Miles.

The annual fee is $95 but is waived for the first year of card membership. Because Venture Miles redeem at 1 cent each, the sign-up bonus is worth $500.

6. The American Express Platinum Card

The American Express Platinum Card is currently offering 60,000 Membership Rewards points after spending $5,000 in the first three months of card membership. The Annual Fee is $550, however, the card offers many premium benefits such as $200 in annual Uber credit, a $200 annual airline credit, a $100 credit for Saks 5th Avenue, lounge access, and free Global Entry or TSA Precheck.

Earn 5x points on airfare purchases. We’ve labeled the card as the best card for Delta travelers. Be sure to check if you are eligible for the 100,000 Point offer as well. The welcome offer bonus alone is worth between $900 and $1,000 because Membership Rewards points are so valuable.

If you want a card that will get you airport lounge access, there is no better option. The American Express Platinum card will get you access to the Delta Sky Club (when flying Delta), the American Express Centurion Lounges, Priority Pass, and a host of other independent lounge networks like the Escape Lounge.

7. The Capital One Spark Miles for Business Card

If you are a small business owner with the ability to spend up to$50,000 in the first 6 months of card membership, you will be hardpressed to find a better offer than the Capital One Spark Miles for Business Card.

The card is currently offering 50,000 miles after spending $5,000 in the first 3 months and another 150,000 miles after spending a total of $50,000 within the first 6 months of card membership. The card has a $95 annual fee that is waived for the first year of card membership.

Like Capital One Venture miles, Spark miles are worth a flat 1 cent each when you go to redeem them. That means the welcome bonus offer alone is worth $2,000 towards travel. Additionally, the card earns 2 miles for every dollar spent. If you met the $50,000 spending requirement, you would end up with 300,000 total miles.

However, don’t wait on this as the offer expires on January 28th, 2019.

8. All 3 of the Southwest Airlines Personal Credit Cards

Let me start out by saying this is one of the best credit card offers I have seen in a long time. All three of the Southwest Airlines personal cards are offering 30,000 miles and the Southwest Companion Pass after spending $4,000 in the first 3 months of card membership. This offer ends on 2/11/19

Depending on which version you have, you will also earn bonus miles after each year on your cardmember anniversary. Check out our full post on this offer here.

These are also great cards to pair with the Chase Sapphire Reserve or the Chase Sapphire Preferred card as the Chase Ultimate Rewards points earned on these cards can be transferred at a 1:1 ratio into your Southwest Rapid Rewards account.

10. The Chase Ink Preferred Business Credit Card

The Chase Ink Preferred Business Credit Card is one of my favorite business cards out there. On top of that, it has one of the most lucrative sign-up bonus offers currently available.

After spending $5,000 in the first 3 months of card membership, you will receive 80,000 Chase Ultimate Rewards points. The sign-up bonus alone on this card is worth at least $1,000.

The card does have a $95 annual fee that is not waived for the first year. It also earns 3x Ultimate Rewards points per dollar spent on the first $150,000 spent on travel and select business categories. On top of that, it offers one of our favorite ways to book flight deals through our Thrifty Traveler Premium service.

Hey Joel. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. It appears Capital One has pulled the 75,000 point limited time welcome bonus offer. 50,000 points after spending $3,000 in the first 3 months of card membership is the current best offer available. I have updated this post accordingly.
